China Has Become the Largest Online Market for the Rapid Development of Animation Industry
It is known from 2008 China-East Union Cultural Industry Forum that by July 2008 the number of internet users in China reaches 253 million among which 40 million users are online game players, and China becomes the largest online market. By the end of 2007, the scale of China’s online market has reached 12.5 billion RMB which is 61.5% more than that of 2006. At the same time, online games developed in China account for 65.1% of the market share. 168 cartoon movies and TV series have been made in 2007 and the total time reached 41,600 minutes.
It is also reported that Wang Yongzhang, director of Culture Industry Department of Ministry of Culture, said that the Ministry of Culture has integrated all the cultural resources nationwide, and set up resource database of culture products, service project and investment project on China Culture Industry Website, providing convenient service to capital invested by any other sectors in culture industry. China Culture Industry Website has covered 176 countries and regions by the end of September this year.
